Stacey’s moving on, Core Company’s stepping up

We are sad to announce that 2016-17 is Artistic Director and Founder Stacey Poirier's last season with Theatre Unbound. "Theatre Unbound owes everything to Stacey's tireless work and dedication to providing opportunities for women theatre artists," says Executive Director Anne Bertram. "We will miss her, and we wish her the very best."

Poirier says, "Sharing women's stories is more important than ever before and as I move on, to advocate for women in other ways, I look forward to watching Theatre Unbound's continued growth and success. The organization is in extremely capable hands."

Bertram will be continuing as Executive DIrector. Starting with season 2017-18, which will be announced later this month, artistic programming decisions will be made by Theatre Unbound Core Company Members:

Charla Marie Bailey is a Twin Cities based actress. A legal receptionist by day and actress by night, Charla has managed to be happy enjoying her two passions in life; law and drama. Performing on stages throughout the Twin Cities for years as a poet and actress, she has performed at the Guthrie, Penumbra and Pangea. She has also worked with Mama Mosaic, Theatre Coup d'Etat, and Theatre Unbound, to name a few. When Charla is not acting, she volunteers, takes singing lessons, does a little ballroom dancing, plays softball, travels, hangs with family and binge watches a lot of Fall TV.

Alexandra Gould has been a company member with Theatre Unbound since 2006. She is a theatrical artist, costume designer, actor, director and educator. Her work has also been seen at The Guthrie, Penumbra, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Williams Town Theatre Festival, to name a few.

Jeni Long has staged managed for Theatre Unbound's productions of Babe: An Olympic Musical, A Staged Reading/Concert, Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley, The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, Women! Live on Stage!, Girl's Got Pluck and Mere Trifles. She has also worked with Maggie's Farm Theatre, Bedlam Studio, MN Jewish Theatre, E.S.C., and 3 AM Productions. Jeni graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, Morris in 2003.

Julie Phillips has been acting professionally for 19 years and earned her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also works as a director, dramaturg, and occasional stage manager. With TU she has been seen as Emily Wilding Davison/Edith Garrud in The Good Fight as well as played the Mother in "Deaf Day" as a part of Girl Shorts 2014. Other acting credits include work at Nimbus Theatre, Richmond Shakespeare, the Shafer Alliance Theatre, Chamberlayne Actor's Theatre, and Emmerich Theatre Production Company. She serves as TU's Social Media Specialist.

Brittany Pooladian is a graduate of Hamline University in St. Paul and has served as Theatre Unbound's Technical Director since 2013. She freelances in the Twin Cities area as a lighting designer and technician and also works at Andover High School as their technical director and scenic/lighting designer.

Laura Wiebers has appeared in TU's productions of St. Luke's, Bits and Pieces, Girl's Got Pluck, The Tempest, The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, Frankenstein Incarnate: The Passions of Mary Shelley, Murderess, Girl Shorts and Silkworms. She has also appeared at the Guthrie Theater, Park Square Theatre, Lyric Theatre, Ebullient Theatre Company, The Playwrights' Center, Theatre In The Round Players and the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Her work has also been seen in commercials, industrials and feature films.
