Our Christmas tradition started with Christmas Eve dinner. We had to be home for Christmas Eve Dinner, which was an inconvenience for me as a teenager, but this was an important detail for my Mother. We would have ham, Swedish meat balls, fried cabbage, potatoes, food that we didn't enjoy at any other time of the year. On Christmas day we were served a turkey roast with the leftovers from the night before, and Christmas pudding (we would set it on fire if we were allowed to) followed by Christmas cake, a fruit cake wrapped in marzipan and frosting. For me Christmas was full of family, food and presents.
