The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood
Directed by Julie Phillips, Theatre Unbound Company Member
Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad is a chance for Penelope and the 12 murdered maids to voice their untold side of the story we know as the Odyssey. Through storytelling, movement, and song they grapple with themes of power, privilege, status, guilt, innocence, and the danger of silence by those with privilege but no power. 10 women+ actors and 3 musicians will play all the parts (goddesses, warriors, husbands, fathers, servants, mothers). We are actively seeking women+ from diverse backgrounds with the ability to play multiple roles and create as an ensemble.
